Three East African nations have secured the rights to jointly host the Africa Cup of Nations, marking the first time the tournament will be spread across multiple countries. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda will share responsibility for the 2027 edition, with plans to extend the arrangement for future events in 2028, 2031, and 2033. The decision aims to broaden the competition’s reach and showcase regional football development. Organizers hope the shared hosting model will enhance fan experience and logistical efficiency.

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will cohost the next AFCON in 2027, with subsequent tournaments in 2028, 2031 and 2033.
