In a scathing attack on the Labor government, Deputy Liberal leader Jane Hume has accused Labor politicians of using negative gearing to accumulate wealth, only to pull the ladder up behind them, making it harder for others to follow in their footsteps. Hume's comments come as the Coalition expresses concerns over proposed changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), citing a need for more scrutiny and a focus on addressing rorts and criminal behavior within the system. However, Hume's criticism also extends to the negotiation process between Labor and the Greens, which she claims is a classic example of "horse trading" and a reflection of the government's priorities. As the debate over the NDIS changes continues to unfold, Hume's comments are likely to spark further controversy and raise questions about the motivations behind the proposed reforms.
