The measure, set to cost over £500 million, will allow devolved nations to follow suit and implement similar caps in their respective regions. Building on his previous experience as Mayor of Greater Manchester, where he had already introduced a £2 limit, Burnham aims to tackle the cost of living crisis by providing relief to millions of bus passengers.
