Former chief constable Scott Chilton has been barred from re‑entering policing after a misconduct hearing found his conduct to be gross. The panel concluded that he displayed entitlement, dishonesty and a lack of integrity by engaging in sexual relationships with two subordinate officers, including while on call to lead major incidents. Chilton, who had retired from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight force before the hearing, was judged to have behaved in a manner that violated the standards expected of a senior police officer.
