"Pharmacists to Gain Expanded Prescribing Powers in £340m Deal. In a major shake-up of the UK's healthcare system, a £340 million deal has been reached to grant pharmacists the authority to prescribe medication for five common conditions. From this autumn, pharmacists will be able to prescribe treatment for conditions such as acne, eczema, hay fever, and more, freeing up GP time and improving patient access to care. The move is part of a wider effort to increase the role of pharmacists in providing primary care and reduce pressure on the NHS."

The £340m deal will see five common conditions added to the list of things pharmacists can prescribe medication for from this autumn.
